Mr. Bader died at the age of 89 after a short illness. he was born in Elk Grove, California on January 20, 1921. His parents, originally German colonists from Russia, immigrated the prior year from Canada. He graduated from Elk Grove High School and started work at Globe Mills in uptown Sacramento. He entered the Navy in World War II and served on the USS Tomahawk in the South Pacific. After the War, he returned to work at Globe Mills and thereafter entered the Real Estate business. He was an independent Real Estate Broker for over 50 years. He married his loving wife Martha in 1948 and shared 62 years together. They raised six sons. He is survived by his wife Martha, and sons Edward, David (Ronda), Robert (Sandy), John, and Raymond Bader. He also leaves four grandchildren, Robert, Brian, Jason, and Jane. He is survived by his sister Betty Robinson (John). He was a longtime member of St. Ignatius Church and was active in the founding of Jesuit High School. He was a lifelong gardener in search of the perfect tomato and shared the the bounty of his garden with all he knew. A memorial service was held on April 24th at the Nicoletti, Culjis, and Herberger Funeral Home on Folsom Blvd. - Information from the Sacramento Bee
