About	David Lee Kent, of Elk Grove, passed on March 7th at the age of 79. Dave was a beloved teacher in the Elk Grove School District, having taught at Dillard Elementary, Joseph Kerr Middle School, Elk Grove High School and adult education. He also taught ceramics for Cosumnes River College. As a teenager Dave worked for the YMCA at the front desk and lead Summer Fun Camp. Dave cared immensely for his students and touched many lives in his 40 plus years of teaching. A consummate artist, Dave began his interest in creative pursuits with a lifelong love of opera and continued on to be an award wining painter, potter, and photographer. His passion for the arts was an excellent match for his deep love of nature and traveling. Dave will be remembered as a devoted family man with wry sense of humor, a man who filled every room he entered with color. He was a wonderful father, husband and friend. Dave is survived by his wife of 55 years, Gay, son Kristopher, daughter in law Teresa, granddaughter Cora, and brothers and sisters in law Rich and Gina Kilmer, and Layne and Richard Boynton. The Kent family would welcome donations to The Michael J. Fox Foundation in memory of Dave.
