About	Jose Luis Martinez ''Joe'' Born on April 23, 1955, in Sacramento, Calif.; passed away on April 24, 2009, in Fresno, Calif. He is survived by former spouse Susan, sons Joseph and Rudy, daughter Valerie, stepdaughter Christina Rickman, grandchildren, Tommy, Stephen, Teddy Jr., Efrain, Delilah, and Sabrina, grandmother Emeteria Almaguear, stepmother Hattie, brothers Romueldo, Romualdo Jr., Avery, and David Lacebal, Paul (Flo), and Richard (Marlyna) Masalta, Aldolfo Vargas, and Juan Lemus, sisters Gloria Anderson (Barry), Carol Bernal (Luis), Christina Arender, Brenda DelaCruz (Fred), and Rosanna Rodriguez (Frank); aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by father Romualdo, mother Charlotte, brother Daniel and sister Estella Vargas. Joe was born in Sacramento and grew up in the Florin and Elk Grove area; attended Elk Grove High. He always enjoyed a good fishing trip and was a true RAMS fan, but his greatest enjoyment was being around his family, especially his grandchildren. The grandchildren loved being around their ''OL POP'', and he loved their constant attention and noise. He was taken too soon from us to complete our life's journey, but by grace and faith we will continue it with him in a better life to come. A direct burial will be on Friday, May 1, at the Calvary Cemetery, 28447 Ave. 14, Madera, Calif. - call (530) 749-1650. Rememberance gathering to proceed immediately following at 214 So.
