About	Our beloved EGHS teacher and baseball coach Bill Parent passed away Friday, January 31, 2025 after a second massive stroke. Mr. Parent taught US History and Government and was Coach Parent to EGHS baseball. Along with Mrs. Jan Rau, he was our class of 1973 advisor. Our classmate Rick Keltner kept a lifelong friendship with Mr. Parent and his wife Linda. Ricky shared these heartfelt words on Facebook. "I guess we all knew Billy in different capacities... Teacher, coach... Some of us were aware that he was a Colonel in the USAF (reserve). He was also an entrepreneur. As a partner in a couple of real estate firms most notably Blue and Gold (get it BLUE & GOLD) Realty, Billy was fundamentally responsible for my career in real estate. He gave me my first job after college. Aside from my wife Bill became my biggest cheerleader. Every achievement became a joint milestone that gave me a unique opportunity to develop a professional 'peer' relationship with my high school teacher... and yes, we celebrated those accomplishments more than a little! In recent years we have been separated by time and distance. Technology has helped bridge the gap... but it's not the same. Adios Boss...
