About	Elk Grove native, Robert Dart, known to his old friends as "Buster," died following a lengthy illness at the age of 84. Robert was born on march 27, 1925, to Rubert dart and Elsie Winkleman Dart on a ranch that had been established by his grandfather Livy Dart. He grew up on the ranch which was located in the vicinity of Highway 99 and Sheldon Road. He attended EG Elementary School, where his father served on the school board: graduated from EGHS with the class of 1942: and attended Heald Business College. He worked in the office at Lawrence Construction Company in Sacarmento for a number of years before moving to the San Francisco Bay Area. There he founded Robert Dart & Associates, which constructed modular homes in South America. He later discovered his career niche working for automobile dealerships and, at the time of his retirement, was sales manager for Lucas Cadillac in San Francisco. Living in San Francisco also gave him many opportunities to indulge his lifelong passion for classical music, opera, and theatre. He also loved entertaining, cooking, and trying out new restaurants. After retirement he wanted to be closer to family so he returned to Elk Grove where he was living at the time of his death. Robert was preceded in death by his sister Dorothy Green: brother Marvin Dart; brother-in-law Buck Miles. He is survived by sisters Aleta Miles of Gold River and Betty Lewis and husband Edmund of Sacramento: sister-in-law Pat Dart Carlisle of Galt: niece Marsha Holmes and husband Cy of Elk Grove: nephews Dennis Dart and wife Julia of Warsaw, Poland and David Dart and his wife Helen of Lodi: and his life partner of 45 years, Christopher Farone. - from the "EG Citizen", April 22, 2009
