About	Del passed away after a long battle with illness with his loving family by his side. Preceded in death by his father Harold, mother Lila, brothers Joe and Roy. Survived by his wife of 50 years, Joyce: six sons and significant others Dennis, Mike, Rick and Cathy, David, Dan and Wendy, and Darold: honorary sons and significant others Sam James, Chuck and Trish Patterson, Daryl Crawford, and Ivan Hunter, grandchildren and significant others Russell, Christine, Melinda and Jerry, Michael and Judy, Valerie and Billy, Richard and Michelle, Derek and Shari, Delbert, Dallas, and Gavin, and Shiloh: and 19 great-grandchildren. Del was born May 11, 1930 and graduated from EGHS in 1948. He founded Nielsen's Cabinets and Plastics of Sacramento and was joined later by his son, Dan, who is the current director. Besides his custom cabinetry he was known for his photography and beautiful leather work for which he won awards. He and his family were devote members of the River of Life Community Church in West Sacramento. Del was laid to rest at Camellia Memorial Lawn, 10221 Jackson Road, Sacramento a short distance from the home ranch and shop. -- Information from the Sacramento Bee 3-26-2009
