About	Published: Tuesday, December 2, 2008 5:04 PM PST Merle Gene Blue of Garden Grove, a member of the Wilton Miwok Rancheria, died Nov. 25, 2008 at the age of 60. Mr. Blue was born Sept. 4, 1948 in Stockton to William and Gladys Blue, both of whom preceded him in death. He grew up in Elk Grove where he attended both Elk Grove Elementary and Elk Grove High schools. At the age of 16 he entered the U.S. Army, serving with the 196th Infantry in the Vietnam War. He also worked for the Elk Grove Parks District before it became the Community Services District. Mr. Blue is survived by his brothers John Blue and wife June of Garden Valley and Michael Blue and wife Debra of Wilton; sisters Linda Blue of Garden Valley and Billie Elliston and husband Rob of Galt; longtime companion Margaret Morla of Garden Valley; and many nieces and nephews. Graveside services were held Tuesday at the Hicksville Cemetery on Arno Road. Arrangements were by Elk Grove Funeral Chapel.
