Candelario “Candy” Arellano, age 85 passed peacefully surrounded by his loving family. Preceded in death by parents Senovio and Esther Arellano and brother Mike Arellano. Attended and graduated from Elk Grove High School Class of 1957. Lettered in Basketball and Baseball. Longtime Elk Grove resident. Talented athlete, coach and mentor. Over a decade of coaching teams for both EG Girls Softball League (Charter Member) and EG Babe Ruth. As a baseball player he was inducted into the Mexican American Hall of Fame in 1993. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Jean (Fenis) Arellano. Daughter Teres (Steve) Renowden and son David (Heidi) Arellano. Grandchildren Tyson and Taryn Renowden, Skyler and Weston Arellano and Hayley (Ross) Driskell. Great grandchildren Adalie and Jameson Driskell. Siblings Ben (Betty) Arellano, Lupe (Joe) De La Cruz, Mary (Richard) Cano, Esther (Joe) Mendoza and Nellie (Ken) Budak.

Beloved son, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend, Candy held many titles, but his favorite title was Tata. He loved spending time with his grandkids and never missed a game or event.

Candy will be deeply missed, his was a life well-lived full of laughter, love and of course baseball!

A celebration of Life service will be held December 6, 2023 at 11:00 am at Herberger Family Elk Grove Chapel. 9101 Elk Grove Blvd. Old Town Elk Grove.
