About | Peter Joseph Archerda October 19, 1949 - October 8, 2022 Galt, California - It is with great regret that Peter Joseph Archerda born on October 19, 1949, has peacefully passed away on October 8, 2022, after a prolonged battle with a 30-point whitetail buck. Or cancer. He was always talking about "landing a 30-point buck", so it's hard to say with any real certainty. Have you seen the hunting trophies around the house? Because we have. You tell us it was cancer. He was surrounded by family and friends, who all saw the buck and will tell you it was real. A cherished husband, father, hunting companion, teacher, football coach, tinker, sailor, soldier, and spy. Pete was a man who enjoyed the finer things in life. Like Nash Bridges reruns, locally made pool accessories, and Mexican food from that one place with the good albondigas. His was a life filled with not only friendship and family, but students who remembered him long after they had grown up and gone on to start lives of their own-often recounting times they were doing something they weren't supposed to and Mr. Archerda "told them to cut that stuff out" which mysteriously turned their behavior around. He loved his grandchildren, loved his wife, and loved the show M.A.S.H. Which the author can now quote from memory due to its omnipresence in the house between the years 2002 and 2006. Thanks to his rich, fulfilling days, he also leaves behind an extensive family who the author will now exhaustingly list. His wife, Diana and stepsons Joshua (Sara) and Jared. His stepdaughter Julie (Aric) and their children. Sister Jerri Lyn Turner (Paul), many nieces and nephews. Pete's celebration of life will be held on October 22, 2022 at 11:00-3:00 at Sorelle Winery in Stockton. In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to the American Cancer Society ( though we know it was that 30-point buck. We all saw it.) Published by The Sacramento Bee on Oct. 16, 2022. |
