About | Born October 18, 1943 in Sacramento, California and passed in Sacramento, California. Long time Wilton resident lost his battle with cancer. He taught for San Juan Unified School District for 34 years in addition to operating a ranch in Wilton. He is survived by his companion, Robby Dayton and sister Patricia Peterson and numerous nieces and nephews. Donations to your favorite charity or the California FFA. March 22 - Wilton News Obituary: Buzz Walker A memorial service is scheduled for March 26 for Wilton resident Albert “Buzz” Walker Jr., who passed away on December 19, 2021. Born on October 18, 1943, he was the youngest and only boy of five children born to Albert and Agnes Walker. The family moved to Wilton from Sloughhouse in 1945. He attended Dillard Elementary school and graduated from Elk Grove High School in 1961. He attended Sierra College and Humboldt State College. He earned his teaching credential and taught for the San Juan Unified School District from September 3, 1968 until June 12, 2004. During his youth, he was involved in 4-H and FFA and played football at Elk Grove High, Sierra College and Humboldt State College. He bought his father’s portion of the family ranch in 1975, where he raised shorthorn and Angus cattle. He loved country music and taught country dancing. He also was an avid hunter, made bio-diesel fuel from vegetable oil and made wine. Buzz died of esophageal cancer. He was preceded in death by parents Agnes and Albert Walker and sisters Marie Adams, Blanche Ridley and Amy Wentzel. He is survived by his companion, Robby Dayton, and sister Patricia Peterson, as well as three generations of nieces and nephews. A celebration of life memorial will be held on Saturday, March 26 between the hours of noon and 3 p.m. at the Wilton Community Center (9717 Colon Road). |
