About | 12-24-1955 to 3-8-2021 Steven Lee Flaming, 65, passed away on March 8th, 2021 due to complications from a recent heart attack. He was surrounded by his loving family at a hospital in Santa Clara. Steve was born in Burley, Idaho to Wesley Albert Flaming and Joan “Lenore” (Ritchie) Flaming. Then shortly after they moved to San Francisco, California where they lived for a few years. The family then moved to Wilton, California where he spent his childhood. He was active in the FFA and the Capitol City Banjo Club. Steven graduated from Elk Grove High School in 1974. Shortly after graduating, he was in love and married Katherine Louise Boswell “on the longest day of the year” June 21st, 1975, his wife of 45 years. In 1983, they bought a home in El Dorado County where he would spend the rest of his years. Steve started work at Westel-Oviatt Lumber Company in 1974 where he worked for 30 years until the mill shut down in 2004. Steve loved swimming, fishing, and animals. He was an avid sports fan and especially loved race cars and motorcycles. He enjoyed radio-controlled airplanes, helicopter, drones, cars, and rock crawling. But most of all, Steve loved and was proud of his family. He loved to go and support all the kids in all the actives they pursued. Steve was a caring husband, a wonderful dad, and grandfather. He was a kind and loving soul. Steve had a catching smile and a witty personality that was loved by all who knew him. He exhibited a down home, country boy, common sense, and a lighthearted sense of humor lifestyle. He was proceeded in death by his parents Wesley and “Lenore” Flaming. He is survived by his wife “Kathy” Flaming; Son Shane Flaming (Leah Flaming), Granddaughter Sarah Flaming, Grandson Blake Flaming; Daughter Candance Flaming (Leonard Tyler) Granddaughters Amber Tyler and Lily Tyler; as well as many extended family members. The family would like to thank everyone for their outpouring of love, support, and prayers during this time. A celebration of life will be held on June 26.
