About	Othie Neil Wilson - known as Neil- was born in April 17, 1936 in Amhurst, Texas to Othie and Edna Wilson. He was the 2nd of 4 children. He passed away on March 3, 2021 in Arkansas City, Kansas. Neil's family moved to Arizona not long after he was born and then, for the next 12 years, he lived in many cities traveling from Arizona to California and back again as his father worked to provide for their family. In April of 1948 they settled in Florin, California where Neil attended Florin Elementary School. In 1954 Neil graduated from Elk Grove High School receiving the All School Music Award. Soon after graduating from high school Neil enlisted in the navy. He was stationed in Southern California and served 4 years as a radar repairman. He was honorably discharged in 1958. Neil married Charyl Howard in1957. Together they had 3 children, David, Carolyn and Donald, and settled down in Bellflower, California to raise their family. Neil successfully founded the Neil Wilson Equipment Company and worked for decades installing industrial conveyor belt systems. He was a driven worker and known for a job well done. He married Darlene Day in 1987 and, after several decades in Southern California, moved with Darlene and her daughters to Placerville, California as well as Las Vegas, Nevada. They retired in Arkansas City, Kansas and, though he was no longer running his business, he always found a way to keep working. Neil and his siblings enjoyed a lifelong commitment of friendship and love to each other and his 10 nieces and nephews loved him dearly. When the families got together it was always a celebration. Neil was preceded in death by his parents, Othie and Edna, his ex-wife Charyl, sister Nelda Clark, nephew Charlie Patterson, and by his wife, Darlene. He is survived by his children, David Wilson (Rommel), Carolyn Wilson, Donald Wilson (Trudy), Melany Mayer, Robyn Baumann(Matthew), Stephanie Dudley (Brian Ruebke). As well as his 8 grandchildren, Timothy and Courtney Wilson, Rylee and Madison Mayer, Kyla Mueller, Aiden and Adalyn Baumann, Gage Dudley and his sisters, Carol Rode and Janice Patterson and 9 nieces and nephews. - Information from the Elk Grove Citizen
