About Vicki (Wiggans) Hubbs
08/21/1953-08/01/2020

The Wiggins family moved to Wilton at the beginning of Vicki's 6th grade. She was the oldest of one brother (Keith) and two sisters (Liz and Kathi). It was a big deal when we had a new classmate. Soon Vicki and I were good friends, and our Dad's too. Our Dads began building VW dune buggies and along with the Smith family (Larry, David, Gail, Sandy, Kenny) and Knisley family (Carol, Verna) we would go to Sand Mountain, Nevada to camp and race. We had such good times. She had this infectious giggle and made me laugh until my cheeks hurt.

After high school, Vicki attended Cosumnes River College. She married Greg Hubbs and had one son and one daughter. Greg was a big motocross racer and Vicki his pit crew. They enjoyed years of riding dirt bikes. As the falls got harder on the body, they transitioned to street bikes and hosted many rides starting from their home in Olivehurst.

Over the years they had several businesses and Greg worked the sawmills. They lived in Grass Valley, Crescent City, Marysville and Olivehurst. She was a Grandmother of two beautiful girls who were her favorite people in the world.

As our children grew up we began to reconnect. Vicki would get us together at Applebee's in Elk Grove with Debbie (Clark) Duncan, Geri (Frochlich) Brannon and Janice (Black) Hirt. Soon those dinners became more frequent and we'd gab for hours. And then as the big birthday numbers approached we needed to plan something special so we planned a trip to Maui. We ended up going a couple of times, also Disneyland, concerts, family events and many more dinners.

Vicki was active in a woman's motorcycle club and loved planning their twisty road trips. Then her sister Liz joined a Porsche club and Vicki became co-pilot, photographer and co-planner of their rides. Vicki and Liz got the nickname Twisty Sisters.

Vicki loved motorcycles, riding twisty roads, outings to the ocean, and doing things with family, She had a way of welcoming everyone. Always optimistic, and helping others remember to let the little stuff go. Vicki died of cancer at the age of just 66. She was preceded in death by her daughter and parents. I will always miss my traveling buddy. - Information from classmate Pam (Clark '71) Hunt
