About	Bruce passed in February 2006 Delmar "Bruce" Brakebill, known at EGHS as Mr. B, or B was born September 29, 1953, the third of four children to Delmar Charles Brakebill and Maralyn Cowles Brakebill in Sacramento. Those that knew him will remember a quiet, brutally honest, and the most loyal person you would likely ever know. A big gentle guy that took Shakespear from Mr. Farr every summer during his time at EGHS or the silly fool that rode over 7 hours with a 5 ft tall Minnie Mouse strapped to the back of his motorcycle for the friend that couldn't go to Disneyland. Few knew his mother was terminally ill during his Sr year of High School. After her death he enlisted in the US Navy and the competitive breaststroke swimmer was trained as a deep water diver. Upon leaving the Navy, Southern California Edison offered him a position and he remained in Southern California. There he met and married Deborah Kerner in 1979 and over the next nine years they had two sons, Adam and Erik. Just prior to his 25th high school reunion a second brother died of a heart issue at a relatively young age. B learned just before traveling to Sacramento for that reunion that he most certainly would experience the same fate as his brothers. He worked very hard following advice that would allow him to spend as much time as possible with his young family. Just before Valentine's Day in 2006, he lost that battle when that great big heart failed him. - Information from classmate Debbie (Johnson '71) Lynne
