About	Actual day of passing unknown. (End of December or first of January sometime) Emma, a lifetime resident of Sacramento, CA, passed away peacefully with family by her side. She was born in Sacramento, CA to Henry J. and Emma Rutz, who emigrated from Switzerland. Emma was preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years, Gordon R. Brown. She is survived by her daughter, Dr. Patti Brown-Schwessinger and Bill Schwessinger of Grosse Pointe Park, MI, along with Emma's son, Martin Edward Brown and Blaine White of Elk Grove, CA. Emma was also loved by her two grandchildren, Dr. Emily Schwessinger-Harlan and Jacob Schwessinger. After graduating from Chico State in 1950, she married her high school sweetheart and began teaching Home Economics at Elk Grove High School. Emma eventually left teaching to devote herself to raising a family. She dearly loved this career and to the benefit of many, excelled at it beautifully! A memorial service wil be held at St. John's Lutheran Church at 1701 L Street, Sacramento on January 11, 2019 at 11:00 AM. Remembrances may be made to the charity of your choice.
