About	Patsy passed away peacefully on August 7, 2018 at the age of 89. She was born January 10, 1929 to Edwin Burnett Polhemus of Elk Grove and Margaret Arvilla Peckham Polhemus, a native of Reno, NV. Patsy was born in Reno but within weeks her parents brought her home to their ranch near Elk Grove, where she grew up. Patsy fondly remembered how, as a youngster, she would ride her horse into "town" to get the mail or buy something at the general store. She especially enjoyed returning to the Peckham ranch in Reno to spend time with her grand-parents. She graduated Elk Grove High School and shortly after married Marvin Dart, also of Elk Grove. They established their home there, raising three sons and opening Dart's Market in Old Town Elk Grove. Later Marvin worked for Raley's, managing stores in several Sacramento area locations. The family lived in South Sacramento during that time and then, upon Marvin's retirement, moved to Galt where Patsy continued to live for the rest of her life. After Marvin's death, she married George Carlisle of Elk Grove. Patsy had various jobs over the years but her main focus and love was being a homemaker. She was an accomplished seamstress and decorator, willing to tackle any project around the house or yard. She loved entertaining, hosting family gatherings, lunching with her many friends, playing bridge and (especially) poker, and was devoted to her Schnauzer dogs. She was predeceased by her parents; husbands Marvin Dart and George Carlisle; brother Jim Polhemus (and his son John); and sister Mary Lou Hudson (and her daughter Mary Margaret). She is survived by her sons Dennis (Julia), Steven, and David (Helen) Dart; grandchildren Lisa, Jessica, Michael and Katia Dart; sister, Emily Ann Saxon; and several nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to attend a memorial service at 10 a.m. on Friday, August 31 at East Lawn Elk Grove Memorial Park & Mortuary, 9189 E.
