About | July 19th, 1937 March 28th, 2018 Ron Parsons was born on July 19th, 1937 in McCook, Nebraska. His family moved to Oakland, California when he was 3 years old and then to Wilton, California shortly thereafter. He grew up working on local farms in the area, graduated from Elk Grove High School in 1956 and pursued a degree in Agriculture at Cal Poly Santa Barbara. Even though he became a General Contractor he still remained a Farm Boy at heart. He married Maryellen, his wife of more than 25 years on Dec. 26th, 1992. Ron had a passion for gardening and beekeeping throughout his life. He was a long standing member of SABA, (Sacramento Area Beekeepers Association), and was always available to come to your property to remove a swarm of Bees in his younger days. At one point he was a commercial beekeeper using his bees for Almond and Cherry pollination as well as local raw honey. Ron had a love for nature and animals, rescuing many dogs and cats over the years. Ron loved the Lord and was a faithful servant to several ministries including Lord's Gym South Sacramento, Bread of Life Food Ministry and for the last 7 years he served tirelessly at Calvary Chapel Sacramento. He is survived by his wife Maryellen, his brother Buck and sister-in-law Cloetta Parsons, children, step children and many grand-children and great grand-children. He will be remembered by many as just "Grandpa" and he loved all of them. Ron gave up his battle with cancer and passed away March 28th, 2018 very peacefully at home with his wife and pastor and loved ones surrounding him. He gave us one last smile as he breathed his last breath, and we were sure he saw his Lord telling him "Well done; good and faithful servant." Grandpa we already miss you more than words can express but we know if we can follow your example and run our race to the end we will see you again in heaven. With love Maryellen, Linda, Marian, Alex, Anca, all of your extended family and Calvary Chapel Sacramento. Party, Party, Party!! - Information from the Sacramento Bee |
