Lawrence B. Malinowski

November 8, 1952 - August 10, 2023


Lawrence “Larry” B. Malinowski, 70, of Elk Grove Village, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 10th surrounded by his family. He was preceded in death by his father, Edwin P. Malinowski and his mother, Cynthia A. Malinowski.


Larry was a graduate of Elk Grove High School and Bradley University where he studied mechanical engineering. His skill of engineering started as a child as he was known for hand building balsa wood airplanes that actually flew a great distance. His parents often found their delicate clocks and time pieces taken apart, later to be reassembled by him.


As a lover of all things history, Larry had a great interest and a vast knowledge of World War II and the American Civil War. He once traveled to the Custer Battlefields to experience the history firsthand. Being an avid reader he was a “regular” at the public library and well known to the librarians. He loved John Wayne movies and the television show Survivor.


For the better part of four decades, his summers were spent at his second home in Twin Lakes, Wisconsin. He liked boating, fishing and being with his friends and enjoying his favorite beverage, Miller High Life!


He leaves behind his beloved brothers Rodney (Mary) Malinowski and Thomas (Diane) Malinowski. He was the fond uncle of Laurel (Jonathan) Slaughter, Peter (Renee) Malinowski, Edward (Nhi) Malinowski, Mark (Alexa) Malinowski, Liane Malinowski (Jack Christian) and Alexander Malinowski. He had four great nieces and a great nephew. He will truly be missed by his friends, neighbors and his cousins Jill Spear, Bill Blank and Darlene Knick.


On Monday, August 14, 2023 there will be a visitation at noon with prayers at 1:00pm at Grove Memorial Chapel, 1199 S. Arlington Heights Road, Elk Grove Village, Illinois.
