Class of 1979
Army, 6 Years
Entered Army in 1979. Completed jump school and survival training at Fort Benning Ga. Then to Ft Bragg N.C. for weapons training and and self defense training. Was accepted to Ranger school and spent time at Langley VA. Qualified. Graduated and was deployed to Iran April 1980. Afterwards, spent 60 days in Germany. Arrived back in the states at Dyess AFB and was on security details for two Air force one stops as well as other secure aircraft arrivals. Got married 9-26-80 and applied for cross training into USAF to secure a permanent duty station. Was accepted and spent the balance of my tour at Dyess AFB Texas. Still happily married !

Honorably discharged with comadations and a few awards. Still happily married ! Overall didn't expect some of my deployments , but the Military made me a better person and was a good experience. And I met my wife of soon to be 33yrs and that's what is most important. Earned 2 yr Security / law enforcement degree at Abeline Christian University in Abeline courtesy of the G.I. bill.

Our Elgin High School military alumni are some of the most outstanding people we know and this page recognizes them and everything they have done! Not everyone gets to come home for the holidays and we want our Elgin High School Military to know that they are loved and appreciated.
