This is scheduled for Sunday, the day after the Western Days parade and general class reunions on Saturday, June 28th. The class will also gather at the SPJST Hall on Saturday from 2-5 with the other classes, and we may have a float in the parade on Saturday (still undetermined).

Elgin High Class of 2000: In less than four months we will be gathering for our 10-Year Class Reunion! We hope you have marked your calendars for Saturday, June 26 after receiving a “Save the Date†flyer several months ago and are making plans to attend. Classmates are encouraged to travel to Elgin the fourth weekend in June not only for our class reunion but for the annual Western Days festivities. This 10-Year Reunion has been in the works for months and you’re sure to have a great time seeing old friends, catching up and reminiscing about the “old days†when we were at Elgin High. The planning committee along with your help has collected contact information for nearly every classmate and we’re hoping most everyone will attend with their spouse or significant other as they are certainly welcome to party with us. See the attached flyer for details about the reunion location and a Web site where you can view more images of the Ghost Town. We have reserved the facility for our class reunion’s private party and will be able to close the place down (just remember to have a safe ride home afterwards.) We are asking a $10 cover charge for everyone who plans to attend (or $20 per couple) in order to cover costs of renting the Ghost Town so as to not deplete the class account and reserve some funds for future reunions. Everyone will be responsible for their own meals and beverages (see menu and prices online at the Ghost Town Web site). The owner of the venue recently acquired a TABC liquor license and can no longer allow outside drinks to be brought in. There will be a cash bar available throughout the evening for those who choose to drink. In order to make sure our cook will have enough food and drinks on hand to cater to our crowd we are asking that you please RSVP no later than Monday, May 31. We also hope to take a class photo and hold a business meeting to discuss future reunions. If anyone would like to share photos for a slide show please scan and email the JPEGs to Jake Helgren. We say “scan†because that’s before most everyone had digital cameras. Any old pictures would be great, starting from elementary school through our high school years. We are also in the process of contacting several of our former teachers and inviting them to have dinner and drinks with us.
