Lydia Pozzato
Class of 1984
National Guard, 11 Years

Lydia enlisted in the U.S. Army Reserve in 1987. She served as an intelligence analyst (96B),for four years, with the 353rd Civil Affairs Battalion (PSYOPS) at the Presidio of San Francisco. In 1991, she received her commission, via the Army's ROTC program at USF. From 1991 through 1997, Lydia served as a military intelligence officer (35D) and as a Spanish, German and Chinese (Mandarin) linguist with the 223rd MI BN (Linguist), CAARNG, Ft. Funston. She also served as Executive Officer and later, Acting Company Commander of Co. A, 223rd MI BN. As a Guardsman, Lydia served on Active Duty for Special Work (ADSW) through numerous, emergency deployments; at Camp Roberts (Paso Robles, CA); and at NICI, Camp San Luis Obispo, CA. Sadly, as was required by the policy in place at that time, Lydia had to leave the Army National Guard when she joined the FBI in 1997. She left the service with the rank of Captain (promotable). But, due to a lengthy, "stop-loss" delay, Lydia did not receive her honorable disharge until 2003. She continues to serve her country as a Supervisory Special Agent of the FBI.
