| About Me | In 2009, I made a DVD of 30 nursery rhyme/childrens' songs for my grandson who was 3 years old at that time. For those who would like to watch, I have uploaded 10 of the songs onto my YouTube channel. (You can find me there by going to the YouTube website and typing Carol Collins into the YouTube search box and then click on my icon.) Dan & I were married in 1964 and were blessed with 3 children, Fred in 1969, Steve in 1971 and Deana in 1973. In 2006, Steve and his wife Renee were blessed with my grandson, Daniel, (yes, named after his grandfather). Deana & Jason have been blessed with my other two grandsons, Ian in 2011 and Seth in 2012. I have been an office worker, teacher, musician and medical transcriptionist since graduating from high school. Dan was a career 30-year US Navy military man, but unfortunately we lost him in 2001 at the age of 59. We had made Wisconsin our home in 1978 and I moved to Manitowoc in 2001. Deana and her husband, Jason, also live here in Wisconsin, while Fred made Las Vegas his home in 1995 and Steve made his home in upper New York state in 1998. In addition to having taught music in grades K-8 and done substitute teaching in grades K-12, I have been a church organist and choir director, private piano, organ, guitar and voice teacher and have played as a professional keyboard player in many dance combo bands. In 1989, when I was playing keyboards with the contemporary rock band "Caution", we had the privilege of being the "opening band" for the rock music star "Dr. Hook" and also for the country music star "Michael Johnston" at the Green Bay Civic Theater here in Wisconsin. In 1997, when I was playing keyboards with the country music band "Heartland", we had the privilege of being the "opening band" for the country music star Rick Trevino at the Oshkosh Convention Center here in Wisconsin. My oldest son, Fred, is self-employed with his own cleaning business and is also a musician, specializing in bass guitar and playing with bands and doing some recording. (He was recognized in the March 2007 issue of Bass Guitar Magazine.) In 1997, when he was playing with the heavy metal rock band "Fact Meets Fiction", their band went on 2 musical tours, one tour performing in New York City and a second tour performing in Europe at a city in Germany. (For anyone who might be interested, "Fact Meets Fiction" has some of their CD's which they produced over the years still available on the internet and itunes and other online music stores.) My middle child, Steve, graduated from NUNY Monroe Community College in Rochester, NY, with a computer technical degree and is an information technology specialist and consultant. My youngest child, Deana, graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in History from the University of Wisconsin--Oshkosh in 1997 and a Master's Degree with Library Media Specialist emphasis in 2003.
