About Me	I am a political science associate professor at San Joaquin Delta College. Active in politics, I was an intern for the late Congressman Tom Lantos (12th District-San Mateo) and served as a staffer for the California Asian Pacific Islander Legislative Caucus in California’s State Capitol. I worked on several political campaigns including Steve Westly for Governor and co-founded of Sacramento for Obama, the first grassroots group in support of then Sen. Barack Obama in Northern California. I formerly sat with the Sacramento County Democratic Central Committee as an alternate member for the 9th Assembly District. I was also elected as a delegate who represented the 5th Congressional District in support of Barack Obama at the Democratic National Convention in Denver in 2008 and was again re-elected to represent the newly created 7th Congressional District in Charlotte in 2012. I have also served as a delegate for the 10th Assembly District and attended the California Democratic State Conventions in 2009 and 2010. I was forced to serve as a deputy foreman of a federal grand jury panel for the Eastern District of California. Today, I continue to actively participate in my community as a citizen member of the Equal Employment Opportunity Advisory Committee for Sacramento County. I am also a member of the UC Davis Alumni Chorus along with my wife, Cheryl. I received Bachelor of Arts Degrees in history and political science, graduating with honors from the University of California, Davis and earned my Master’s Degree in Public Administration from the University of Southern California where I specialized in the areas of political management and homeland security. I am currently pursuing my Ed. D. from the University of Wyoming specializing in the area of Adult Post-Secondary Education. In my spare time, my family loves the outdoors. We love to go backpacking at the Sierras and around Lake Tahoe. Our favorite places San Francisco, Yosemite, and Venice, Italy. My wife and I love to play racquetball, play Ultimate Frisbee, and run!
