| About Me | After High School I did a little bit of Community College at Moraine Valley but not much. I then got a job as a runner at the Chicago Board of Trade and worked there from 2002 to 2005 along with working at Jewel Osco for that time. In 2005, I had the opportunity to join the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 399. I started my union apprenticeship in March of 2005 at a 24-story 257 room hotel and once my apprenticeship was completed I started my first journeyman's job as a midnight stationary engineer at the headquarters for Discover Financial Services. I worked midnights and afternoons there for 7 years. I left Discover Financial Services in December of 2014 and immediately started in December 2014 at the University of Illinois at Chicago. I still am employed at the University and I have worked in numerous buildings on the west side of Campus including the UIC Animal Hospital, UIC Hospital, and I have currently for the past 8 years been employed in the UIC Steam Plant sometimes called the physical plant. I went back to school and earned an associate's degree from Triton College in Facilities Engineering Technology in 2020 and I'm currently 18 classes in at the Illinois Institute of Technology with hopes to graduate by 2025 with a bachelor's in Industrial Technology and Management.
