Graduation Year Class of 1998
Date of Passing Sep 19, 2017
About Kristal Lynn (Light) Donaldson was born in Yakima, WA at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital on May 10, 1980, the first child of Mel & Linda Light. Kristal attended Ridgeview Elementary, Lewis & Clark Jr. High and graduated from Eisenhower High in 1998. Kristal enjoyed and participated in several different sports but preferred playing soccer with her many friends, especially Amber Zahler and Jenny Kring and Courtney Wimer. After graduation Kristal pursued a career in nursing and graduated as a Registered Nurse from Y.V.C.C.

Kristal moved to the Richland area and began working as a nurse. During that time she met Ryan Donaldson. Ryan and Kristal were married April 16, 2005. They continued living in the Richland area and after Zachary and Alize were born they moved to Yakima. Kristal continued working in the nursing field for several years. Kristal had a heart for helping people in need, seemingly always trying to rescue and help others.

Kristal was so proud of her son Zachary, making every effort to be part of his many sporting events and activities, Mom always cheered the loudest. Alize is the princess that Kristal spent so much time preparing fancy hair styles, glittery makeup and brightly colored finger nails.

Kristal died unexpectedly September 19, 2017. Kristal is survived by her husband Ryan, children Zachary and Alize, parents Mel and Linda Light all of Yakima, grandmother Rose Marie Ulmer of Yakima, sisters Kayla Dollar, Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Kelsey (Kelly) St. Mary of Yakima, several aunts, uncles, in-laws and cousins that were all an important part of her life, and many, many friends. A few days ago somebody wrote on Kristal's Facebook page: "Your compassionate heart is the most memorable thing about you. People can feel this from the moment that they meet you and your kindness is incredibly contagious." There are no words that describe our pain and feelings of loss. Special appreciation and thanks to Mel's coworkers at West Valley School District Transportation for their support in every possible way, they are skilled school bus drivers and our friends.

Memorial service will be Saturday, September 23, 2017 at 4 P.M. at Open Bible Christian Center, 2701 W. Lincoln Ave., Yakima, WA.
