About	On January 4, 2016 Jerry Evans, 55, went to be with the Lord. Jerry was born in Yakima, Washington on February 3, 1960 to James and Donna (Buchert) Evans. Residing in Yakima all of his life, Jerry attended Eisenhower High School, graduating in 1978. Shortly thereafter Jerry joined the family business Evans & Son, Inc. quickly becoming an expert at operating all of the heavy equipment and driving trucks. Jerry became the “go to guy” in the field for the company overseeing the projects, operating equipment and making sure projects were completed with the exceptional quality he expected. When his father Jim fell ill, Jerry additionally took on the duties of soliciting work and bidding projects. Over his career, Jerry and the crew completed many projects throughout the Northwest including subdivisions, roads and commercial sites. Jerry was truly an all around expert in his field. Early in his life Jerry was bitten by the racing bug, as were several other family members. He built a “sand drag” Jeep, racing it several years before he purchased a stock car and competed at Yakima Speedway for numerous years that lead to many longtime friendships. Jerry also loved spending time with family, friends, traveling to Mexico and of course going to Seahawk games. He always had a Monday morning analysis of every Sunday game. Given a gift, he could always make you feel good when he spoke to you and he could be the life of the party. Jerry was blessed to have granddaughter Harper join the family earlier this year and she is the apple of his eye. Jerry is survived by his mother, Donna Evans, sons Brad Evans and Brett Evans (Bailey), soul mate Christina Friesz, brother Jamie (Maurine), sister Jena Evans (Mike), granddaughter Harper Evans and nephew Matthew Evans. He was preceded in death by his father Jim and grandparents Jess and Geraldine Evans and Herb and Margaret Buchert. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to Children’s Village.
