Gynithe Christine (Ulness) Mclaren passed away peacefully at Memorial Hospital, Sunday, December 28, 2025, with her husband of 38 years, Gary, by her side. She was 80 years old.
Gynithe was born November 25, 1945, to Lynn and Blanche (Day) Ulness in Yakima. She graduated from Eisenhower High School in 1964 and attended Central Washington University in Ellensburg where she received her bachelor’s degree in education.

She taught school in Walla Walla, Salt Lake City, and Yakima. The last 20 years she taught 2nd grade at McClure Elementary School in Yakima. Gynithe retired after more than 30 years of teaching.

She loved the outdoors, her flowers, and camping trips in the early years of her marriage to Gary. She learned how to dance in 1988 and was a great dance partner, especially the waltz and two-step.

Gynithe is survived by her two sons, Jeff (Jodi) Gray and Brent Gray, both of Ellensburg. She is also survived by two granddaughters, Julie and Alison (Court) and 2 great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her father Lynn Ulness, mother Blanche Ulness and sister Gwyne Martin.

A Graveside Service is set for Saturday, January 3, 2026, at 10:00AM at Terrace Heights Memorial Park. A Celebration of Life will follow at Keith & Keith Funeral Home, 902 W Yakima Ave beginning at 11:00AM with refreshments.
