About Janean Marie (Hill) Henrickson, of Silverdale, WA, passed away February 8, 2025. She was born November 20, 1950 in Yakima, WA to Herbert Harvey and Mary Alice (Wenner) Hill, Janean graduated from Eisenhower High School in Yakima, and subsequently Central Washington University in Ellensburg. Janean married Glen Michael Henrickson in Bremerton, WA on November 17, 1973. Janean was a loving homemaker and together with her husband, worked to raise their two children. In 1992, Janean and Glen (long time Funeral Director and Embalmer for the Lewis Funeral Chapel) made what was likely the most important decision of their lives at the time, and worked with Lester M. Lewis, Jr to purchase Lewis Funeral Chapel, Forest Lawn Cemetery, and The Stone Chapel Poulsbo Mortuary. When their children were old enough, Janean went to work at The Stone Chapel Poulsbo Mortuary location on Viking Way in Poulsbo as an Administrative Assistant, doing so for 5 years. Janean and Glen saw the need in the North and Central Kitsap communities for a funeral home that was more than what the Viking Way location could provide. With the goal in mind of offering the best facilities and cemetery grounds in the Poulsbo area, in 1997 they opened the new Stone Chapel Poulsbo Mortuary at Cherry Grove Memorial Park. Janean continued working at the new location for the next 20 years, until her diagnoses of Parkinson's disease forced her retirement. In her youth, Janean loved horseback riding and playing softball. As an adult, she loved spending summers at the family home in Hansville or visiting her family in Yakima; she enjoyed many years of fishing and talking politics with her father, Herb and two children; shrimping with her son, Chris; Janean passionately hated the idea of travel, but when forced, dearly loved her trips with family to Hawaii, Victoria, BC, Disneyland, and especially Las Vegas; playing gin rummy with her family and solitaire when it was slow at work. During the part of her life she battled Parkinson's disease, Janean's children and family were there to visit and care for her regularly. Janean truly enjoyed being visited. Visiting mom was a source of pride for her family, as visiting multiple times each week became a routine part of the day. Janean was fiercely loved by her family and will always be remembered fondly.

Janean is preceded in death by her husband, Glen Michael Henrickson (2001); son, Christopher Lee Henrickson (1975); parents, Herbert H. Hill (2005) and Mary Alice Hill (1994); brother, Daryl G. Hill (2013).

Janean's memory will live on with her children, Glen Chrisman Henrickson (Heidi) and Marylynn Hill Henrickson; sister, Diane H. Robert (Roderick); brother, Dennis H. Hill (DeeDee); grandchildren, Bryn O. Rudd (Jacob), Connor G.M. Henrickson, Kaitlin M. Fermstad, and Allyson M. Fermstad; mother-in-law, Marilyn L. Henrickson; brother-in-law, Patrick L. Henrickson (Maria); sister-in-law, Kerry N. Lopez; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A private graveside service will be held at Terrace Heights Memorial Park in Yakima, WA. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research at give.michaeljfox.org.
