About Eamon Zachary Morgan departed from this earthly life on Wed., Dec. 11th, 2024. His soul and spirit have moved on to the next realm of his life walk to join his Dad and other loved ones who have gone before him. Eamon was born on June 24th, 1982, to Bev (Youngblood) and Gary Morgan, the last of our 3 sons. He was only 14 months old when his Dad passed away from Cancer. It's been interesting to note, that Eamon was the most like his Dad in his teasing, lively personality. Eamon went to Westside Christian School up to 6th grade. Then a couple of years at St Paul's Catholic School. After that, he went to Eisenhower High School, doing Running Start at Yakima Valley Community College during his junior and senior years. He graduated High School in June of 2001, along with completing the 2 years at YVC. He continued his college education at Central Washington University and graduated in June 2004. He then moved to Seattle and completed his Master of Social Work in 2007. During this time, he applied to the Dept of Child Protection Services with Washington State and worked there most of his adult working life. Eamon had a passion for working there and always felt he was in the right place for his life job-wise.

Eamon was well known across Washington State by both staff and community partners for his dedication to the Department of Children, Youth, and Families where he served for nearly 20 years. For the last 7 years, he was a Child and Family Welfare Service Supervisor in the Everett office. Eamon led his teams, mentored many other colleagues as a CWTAP Field Advisor, and represented what a true leader is. He saw the good in everyone and helped others see it within themselves as well. He worked effortlessly. He diffused tense situations with his laugh and reassuring words. Eamon was fluent in sarcasm, known for his easy-going attitude, and brought just the right amount of sass and class to the office. Many colleagues recall their first day at the office and it involved Eamon. He was so welcoming to everyone and never wanted anyone to feel alone or lost in the challenging work of child welfare. Staff lined up for a seat at his table at lunch or outside his office just wanting to say hi. Eamon was an ally and advocate for those involved with the child welfare system, specifically teenagers in foster care. He built rapport easily and could see their full potential often before anyone else. For at least the last decade, Eamon continuously shared his "2-year plan to retirement". When he would take vacation days to travel, ski, or go to events, colleagues and friends would await his return to hear how it went and the "new plan for retirement" which most often included another new destination or trip. His presence at the office or in a virtual meeting never went unnoticed. Eamon always shared his knowledge, experience, and ideas so others could learn from him. He is a great example of what a Social Worker is. Eamon was one of the most senior leaders in the Everett office, was part of the heart and soul of the office and his spirit will live on through all those he touched.

My husband and life partner of 20 years was my best friend. We met in October 2004 and eventually married in January 2014. We shared an exciting and adventurous life. We enjoyed many travels to Mexico, Germany, Costa Rica, Italy, Spain and Peru to name a few. He was the brightest personality in every room. Oftentimes you heard his boisterous laugh before you even saw him. We have 2 amazing daughters DeAndrea and Kendra as well as our brightest stars / grandchildren Jaxson, Alice and Isabel. We fostered many children in our home over the years and were extremely fulfilled and embraced each of them in our lives. Eamon was always looking to give back to the community outside of his career. He participated in many fundraising events and volunteered at the Seattle Lambert House mentoring LGBTQ+ teenagers and older gay men. He was a free spirit who enjoyed country music, James Bond, the Opera, casino trips and the occasional cigar and bourbon. Our hearts will never beat the same. He was our everything.

Eamon was also a voracious reader of books of many topics especially comedy and history, enjoyed movies of all kinds although westerns were a favorite, loved learning new things constantly with museums a favorite. He always was involved with many hobbies going on in his life and loved staying busy with all the areas of his life.

Eamon is leaving behind his husband, Justin Black, his mother, Bev Morgan-Jensen, 2 brothers, Kim (Amanda) Morgan, and Anson (Michelle) Morgan, and a half-sister, Ginger (Morgan) Aston and special friend, Isaac Sanders. He also leaves his 2 adopted daughters, Andie and Kendra, and 3 grandchildren. He was a young grandpa of 42 when he passed. Eamon was a favorite Uncle who will be greatly missed by niece Korah (Ryan) Knight, and nephews, Mason Morgan, Carver Morgan, and Liam Morgan. Also 2 great nephews, Parker and Peyton Knight. Eamon also leaves behind lots of other family which includes Bob Patton, and 4 sisters of his Mom. Debbie (Dennis) Buchert, Jan Bernath, Gay Edmondson, and Marsha (Jerry) Robertson. Cousins are Chantelle (Johnny) McKinney, Brian (Chantal) Buchert, Matt (Andrea) Bernath, Melissa (Rich) Lamb, Michelle Bernath, Brad Taylor, Laura Taylor, Heath (Robin) Robertson, and Haley Boren, well as lots of extended family members.

Eamon is now reunited with his Dad, Gary Lee Morgan, Grandparents on both sides, and other relatives who have gone before.

I have loved you with all my heart since birth, throughout life, and look forward to joining you some day. Mommy

Services will be held on Sunday, Dec. 22nd at 12:00 noon at Central Washington Seventh Day Baptist Church 10200 Summitview Ave., Yakima, WA 98908.

Eamon will be buried at West Hills Memorial Park on Monday at noon.
