About Laurie Robillard passed away quietly on November 20, 2023 at The Cottage in The Meadow Hospice in Yakima, after an extended illness. Laurie is survived by her son Tom Robillard of Palm Desert, California, her daughter and grandson, Tracey Robillard and Josiah Robillard of Yakima, and her sister Maria Sullivan of Steilacoom, Washington. Laurie was born in Corvallis, Oregon April 25, 1948. In the early 1950's Laurie and her Mother Sue relocated to Yakima Washington, where Sue met and married Gene Sullivan. Laurie grew up as the big sister to her sister and brother, Maria Sullivan and Bob Sullivan. Laurie attended St. Joseph School, St. Paul Cathedral School, and graduated from Eisenhower High School in 1966. She enjoyed learning and, in her mid-life, while raising her children Tom, Tami, and Tracey, obtained a Bachelor's degree from Central Washington University and a Master of Education from Heritage College. Her family remembers her as rising very early in the morning and hitting the books with a pot of coffee on the stove, before getting the kids off to school.

Laurie's fondest role in life was as a Mother to Tom born 1968; to Tami born 1975; and to Tracey born 1981. She whole heartedly supported them in their school and sporting events of golf, tennis, volley ball and swimming. In their adult years, Laurie was always available to talk with them about their life, their challenges, and the world in general. Laurie had a great sense of style which was reflected in her fashionable personal appearance and in her home décor. Laurie was kind, fun and funny. She loved and supported her children with all her heart; and over the years she had numerous cats and dogs, which provided companionship, especially in her later years. Laurie's kind heart and ability to connect with everyone was reflected in her most fulfilling work -- in her twenties serving as a matron for girls in Yakima juvenile detention, and in her fifties and sixties, working as an adult companion at a group home for disabled young adults. The family is grateful to Laurie's caregivers, and in particular to her daughter and grandson, Tracey and Josiah Robillard, who provided care and companionship in her final years. Laurie was preceded in death by her daughter Tamara (Tami) Lynn Robillard, her parents Gene and Sue Sullivan and her brother Bob Sullivan. She joins them now in heaven. Funeral services will be held at Langevin El Paraiso Funeral Home in Yakima at 10:00 Am on Tuesday December 5, 2023 with burial to follow at Terrace Heights Memorial Park.
