Ricky Dean Hartzog, 54, beloved son of Shirley Gleason Aman and the late Leroy Aman passed away October 8th 2016. Rick was born April 11th 1962 in Yakima, Wa. He attended Garfield Elementary, Wilson Jr. High, and Eisenhower High School. He played soccer and baseball and spent many happy summer days with his brother Terry playing in the creek near his home. He moved with his family to Ventura, California in 1979, and he joined the Army in 1980. Rick was blessed with a compassionate and kind heart. He was so generous he would give everything he had to help others. From the time he was young Rick loved animals: parakeets, ducks, cats and most of all dogs. The past few months of his illness he would take bread to feed the ducks at a pond near his home; he would sit there for hours feeding the ducks and fish. Rick’s greatest love was for his Saviour Jesus Christ. We will cherish the memories of our beloved Ricky, his funny sense of humor, his funny stories and his love for his family. We will forever love him and miss him, and he will live in our hearts and memories forever.

He is survived by his mother Shirley Gleason Aman of Nampa, Idaho, his sisters, Sandy Schrotenboer (Mike) of Nampa, Idaho, and Joni Lonack (Chris) of Redmond, Washington, his brother Craig Aman (Melissa) of Seattle, Washington, his son Ricky McKie of Mead, Washington, and two grandchildren, Ricky Leingang and Lilly Leingang. Also, many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his brother Terry Hartzog, father Leroy Aman, and Herman “Bud” Hartzog, grandparents Lawrence and Ruth Gleason and Clarence and Lucille Hartzog. A celebration of life service will be held October 22nd, 2016 at 12:30 PM at Alisp Persons Funeral Chapel, Nampa, Idaho. You can visit Rick’s memorial video at www.alsipfuneralchapel.com. Rick’s difficult and courageous battle with cancer is now over, his suffering is no longer and he now resides in heaven with his heavenly father. R.I.P our Angel.
