**********
Mari E. Dugas, age 69, went to heaven Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at Cottage in the Meadow. Born September 17, 1950, she was a lifelong resident of Yakima. She was raised by her grandmother, Mary M. Linker. She graduated from IKE.

Mari was a proud homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend who was loved by many. She loved to go shopping, especially those clearance racks and yard sales. She enjoyed spending time with family and loved spending time at the casinos. She became a mother at the age of 17 to her son, Sam. By the time she was 18 she had adopted 4 boys into her family, then four years later she had her only daughter, Misti. On June 7, 1997 she married the love of her life Don Dugas. Mari had the biggest heart and the most beautiful soul. She was someone whom many admired and loved. Her door was always open to any and everyone who needed her.

Mari is survived by her husband Don Dugas, son Sam (Darlene) Fogler, daughter Misti Barnes, sons: David (Diana), Bill (Michelle), and Eric (Becky); grandkids: Sammy (Mathilda), Ryan (Kristie), Ashley, Rocky, Raymond, Anastasia, Donald, Amber, Megan, and Christian; great-grandkids: Alizay, Hinessie, Luna, Emmaq, and Liam; mother-in-law Betty and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncle and cousins.

Mari was greeted in heaven by her parents Leroy and Joanne, grandmother Mary M. Linker, siblings: Sheila, Chris, Davey, and Darla; son Jack, father-in-law Bill, her grandparents and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

We want to thank the staff at Cottage in the Meadow and the nursing staff in ICU for taking such great care of Mom.

A private Celebration of Mari’s Life will be held on Saturday, September 28th at 12:00 p.m. Contact the family or Brookside Funeral Home at (509) 457-1232 for location.
