About Grant Bertram Johnsen passed away peacefully after a long illness on November 5, 2018 surrounded by his mother and friends. Grant was born on December 15, 1950 in Yakima, Washington. Grant graduated from Eisenhower High School in 1968 (actually 1969). He received an Associate’s Degree from Yakima Valley College in 1970. He went to Seattle in 1971 to manage the kitchen for the El Taco Restaurant at the Seattle Center. Grant returned to Yakima in 1980 and worked until his retirement at Country Buffet. He was forced to quit working when he became ill in 2012. Grant enjoyed family, friends, fishing with his Aunt Lily, travel, theater, and cooking.

Grant was preceded in death by his father, Charles (Chuck) Johnsen and his dear aunt Lily Fox. He is survived by his mother, May Johnsen, his brother, Chris Johnsen, aunt and uncle, Ivy and Jack McCormick, cousins Monty and Sharon Panadis and Bradley Fox, and many family members and friends. He will be missed by all those who knew and loved him.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National Kidney Foundation or DaVita Clinic in Union Gap.
