Did you know that bees pollinate 1 out of every 3 bites of food we eat? It's kind of astounding, really. These humble little creatures are responsible for 1/3 of our food supply. The number of bee colonies has been steadily declining for the last 40 years. Loss of pollinator habitats, toxic pesticides, and genetic modification of crops are all thought to be potential contributing factors, but researchers are still unclear of the exact cause. With nearly **50 percent population losses** being reported thus far in 2017, action is needed now more than ever.
