1954 Grad Football

UBuffalo Grad. 1959. Played football and started for three yrs at halfback. Our 1958 had a 8-1 record. We were invited to play Fla. State in the Tangerine Bowl in Orlando Fla. After accepting, the mgrs of the stadiuum found out we had two afro- americanns on the team. Then we wer told we could play if we left them at home. Our team did't even vote. We turn it down. 50 yrs later our '58 team has been invited to to Orlando when UB plays Central Fla in Orlando on September 19, by the current Mayor. Orlando is flying a plane to pick us up in Buffalo on Sept 18. It will probably be noted on ESPN or ESPN.2.
Last yr. our '58 team was recognized on ESPN2 for our stand.
