| About Me | Mr. Gregory is an Air Force veteran and retired Civil Service engineer whose career centered on battlefield electronics and their maintenance, development, manufacture, and test. He served as a test engineer and as a test site manager, as a staff Quality Assurance engineer, as a Product Assurance Office Manager, and as a project manager. Duty assignments included US Army Acquisition Commands, test sites, Army and joint project management offices, and the Pentagon where he served as a program manager for the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Research, Development, and Acquisition. During the course of his career he prepared and revised regulations, specifications, test plans and procedures, requirements documents, budget and planning documents, and numerous other types of mission related documentation. As an unexpected bonus he realized that he enjoyed writing and the research behind it, and that he enjoyed informing others. It was a nice fit because his assignments gave him ample opportunity to meet, interact with, and understand people from a variety of national, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds. It honed his ability to inform individuals and groups with differing levels of technical expertise and differing educational backgrounds; and to do it with a degree of clarity that required subject knowledge, the ability to capture the reader’s attention, and the skill to convey the information with the least amount of confusion or misunderstanding. Mr. Gregory earned the Bachelor of Science degree at California State University Long Beach where he was inducted into Tau Beta Pi and Eta Kappa Nu, and earned the Master of Science in Electrical Engineering degree at the New Jersey Institute of Technology. He is a graduate of the U.S. Army’s Logistics and Acquisition Management Program, its Quality and Reliability Engineering Program, and its Research, Development, Test and Evaluation Program; and is an Army Certified Level III Program Manager and a past Certified Quality Engineer. He continued his association with the defense industry after leaving Government service by completing several writing assignments that dealt with proposal preparation. Other assignments included a study that recommended changes to improve a contractor's support organization for fielded equipment and another study that updated the client's methodology for locating suitable defense related bid opportunities on the web. More recently, Mr. Gregory broadened his writing background to include B2C and B2B capability. His publications include; 1. Global Positioning System Coarse Acquisition Code Signal Degradation Under Helicopter Rotor Blades 2. Positive Thinking and You 3. Positive Thinking and You (2nd ed) 4 A business article series at www.examiner.com Works in progress include a science fiction novel, several short stories, and ...(read more) |
