The Easton Md Army National Guard Unit when I was a member happened to be the 175 th infantry. I took basic N.C.O. Academy training and
then Advanced N.C.O. training. I was promoted
to Sargent within 3 years. I also was an instructor
many different times teaching different things the
Infantry used. Funny because I hated when the
teachers called on me in class and had to give an
answer. Some weekends I had to talk in front of
up to 1,000 soldiers usually in groups of 30 - 35
at a time.

Coast Guard, 20 Years
Spent 6 years in the NAVY on Aircraft Carriers, Left the NAVY joined the COAST GUARD and retired 2001. Operated various Search and Rescue boats ranging from 22 ft to 44 ft Surf Boat. Was a Search and Rescue controller at Baltimore. Area of responsibility From the C&D Canal to the Potomac River and all areas between. Last duty was Assistant Tug Supervisor of a 110 tug at the Coast Guard Yard in Baltimore, Assisting ships in and out of the drydock and escorting ships to and from the yard.

- Left active duty and joined the Navy Reserve
- Served as an ASW pilot in VP-91 from 1982 - 1991 flying the P3 Orion
- Served as a Blue and Gold Officer recruiting midshipmen for the US Naval Academy
- Completed naval service as a member of the independent ready reserve 1993 - 2002
- Retired from the Navy Reserve as a Commander in 2002
