Mr. Charles H. Myers (Principal) Obituary

Greetings alums of Eastmoor High School. I am J.W. Matt Hennessee and graduated in June 1976. Mr. Myers was our principal and I loved him and respected him. He was always fair, concerned for the students, and worked well with the parents as well. Often he or Ms. Perry, Vice Principal, when some intervention was needed among the student body, they would ask people like myself and others to do so. We gladly did so in an effort to de-escalate matters and we had a thriving experience. What a time. We were bussed to Eastmoor and it was the first time I had been around brothers and sisters who didn't look like me. I grew up in foster homes and orphan homes, but my experience at the Junior High and High School truly transformed my life.

I have often told stories about Mr. Myers and I hope and pray his family sees and hears many of them. He was a giant among principals and worked hard to make sure our school was one of the best.

I'm a bit confused about the date of passing in that it says August, but I am assuming his passing must have been in April.

Thank you for the opportunity to share my thoughts and I will never forget the amazing contributions of Mr. Myers in our lives.
