Navy, 4 Years US Navy Flight Surgeon First Black Flight Surgeon for US Navy Flight Demonstration Team The Blue Angels
Claude L. Johnson Sr. Class of 1965
Air Force, 4 Years Joined USAF after highschool. After basic training, assigned to Hahn AB, Germany, Bolling AFB, DC and the Pentagon. Discharged in August 1969. After USAF attended Howard University in Wash, DC. Awarded BA and MA from Howard. Retired from federal government service after 37.5 years in Jan 2002.
David Johnson Class of 1965
Air Force, 4 Years After basic training, spent 1 year at Lowry in Denver attending PMEL school (precison measuremnet electronics technician). From there spent 2 years at Kirkland AFB in Albuquerque. Spent final year at Johnston Island - 600 miles SW of Hawaii. This small Atoll was 2 miles long and 1/2 mile wide. An interesting experience.

Army, 20+ Years Commisioned as a 2nd LT upon graduation.Duringall the years I experienced numerous assignments both stateside and overseas. Stateside assignments included Ft Hood, Texas, Fort Sam Houston, Tx, Ft Polk La, Valley Forge Hosp, Brooke Army Medical Center, 5th Army Headquarters in San Antonio, TX Overseas included Korea, VietNam, Germany and Hawaii

Preston "Bob" Brewer Class of 1968
Army, 6 Years Drafted in 1970 and did basic and AIT training at Ft. Lewis, Washington. Shipped to Viet Nam in June of 1970 and returned in May of 1971. My squad had an article written on them by Time Magazine regarding a booby trap that we ran into in 1970. After returning I spent the remainder of my enlistment at Ft. Carson, Colo.

Air Force, 2 Years 138th AC & W Squadron--National Guard Unit stationed at Denver University and activated in 1951. I was a radar observer and later an officers pay clerk at Ellsworth Air Base in Rapid City, SD

Robert Nakamura Class of 1976
Army, 20+ Years Went into the Army just 2 weeks after graduating JFK. Served as a Medical Specialist during my first 4 years then Finance Corps for the remaining years. Served in Korea with 3 tours of duty for 4 years and 1 tour of Germany for 3 years. Have gone from the west coast at Fort Ord (Monterrey area), California and Fort Lewis (Tacoma), Washington, to Saint Louis, Missouri and the east coast in Massachusetts and South Carolina. Never got assiged to Fitzimmons the Army Medical Center in Denver or Colorado Springs, and wished that I had a chance to go to either place for duty. Had fun overall and no regrets in my choice for being in the military. One of my better choices that I had made in my life.
