About Me	"Fashion fades. Style is eternal.” -Yves Saint Laurent John Byrd Olivieri. CEO and head designer for Nepenthe, was born on August 19th, 1987 in Durham NC. John has always appreciated all forms of art, but realized at a very young age that his passions and obsessions were all centered on fashion. After this epiphany, John began sketching, studying, and dedicating all of his free time to his dream, which was launching his own women’s wear collection that focused on independent women who were not afraid to take risks. In 2007, NEPENTHE was born. ‘Nepenthe’ is a drug used by the Greek to relieve pain and Sorrow. The meaning of the company's name is synonymous with John's passion for designing and creating beautiful and unique garments. The brand has been featured in the spring issue of Sparxx magazine, a publication currently distributed within the Greater Boston area, and August edition of Raleigh's own Triangle Socialite Magazine. Nepenthe was also named the winning collection of the 2011 New Act City Fashion Showcase. John's garments are currently being sold at Poor Little Rich Girl boutique, located in Atlanta, GA. His current Collection is inspired by the character Storm from The X-Men, Erykah Badu and the movie New Jack City. The collection, known as Unspoken Jurisdiction, fuses Bold pops of Red, Blues and Yellows with shades of black and grey, encompassing the true essence and beauty of a Strong woman. The Unspoken Jurisdiction collection was based around Chiffon, Satin, Leather and cotton-blend fabrics. While working toward the top, John aims to improve or repair the confidence of others through his work.
