DYFS supervisor, beloved mother & grandmother, lived in Kearny
Maria (nee Trueba) Rodriguez, 79, of Little Falls, N.J., passed away on Aug. 11, 2020.
Born in Scranton, Pa., Mrs. Rodriguez moved to Newark, N.J., as a toddler. She resided there before moving to Kearny, N.J., in 1987 and then to Little Falls in 2007. Maria retired in 2008 as a supervisor for State of New Jersey, Division of Youth & Family Services.
Mrs. Rodriguez was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel RC Church, Newark, N.J., and a member of Italian American War Veterans (ITAM) Ladies Auxiliary, Post #8 of Newark.
She was predeceased by her husband, Enrique Rodriguez; her parents, Cresencio and Carmela (nee Biondi) Trueba, and her four brothers, Cresencio, Jr., Michael, Candido and Manuel Trueba.
Maria is survived by her two daughters, Carmela (Jerry) Christoforatos and Maria (the late Rocco) Senatore, both of Little Falls, N.J.; her son, Ricky (Margarita) Rodriguez of North Arlington, N.J.; and her grandson, Dante Nicholas Christoforatos; her three sisters-in-law, Anita and Sara Trueba and Phyllis Testa, and her many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Friday from 4-8 pm at Bizub-Parker Funeral Home, 47 Main St., Little Falls, N.J. A Funeral Mass will be offered at 9:30 am Saturday at Our Lady of Mount Carmel RC Church, 259 Oliver Street, Newark (Please meet at Church). Entombment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington, N.J.
