| About Me | I was a teacher at Baylor School for forty-one years. I am presently retired. During my tenure at Baylor I taught Advanced Placement Biology, Anthropology, Native American Archaeology, Freshwater Ecology, Pollution Measurements, Marine Biology, The Ascent of Man, Computer Science, Chemistry, Algebra, Biology, Genetics, General Science, and Physical Science at Baylor. I was also responsible for cataloging and maintaining the artifacts found in the eighteen state registered archaeological sites on the Baylor campus. In addition, I was partly responsible for maintaining the "Birds of Baylor" database. One hundred and thirty-one different avian species have been observed on the Baylor campus and are recorded in the database. My extracurricular responsibilities included coaching the rifle team, springboard diving, lower school and ninth grade football, SCUBA certification and SCUBA club sponsor, Gamma Alpha, experiential archaeology, and I videotaped varsity football games for fifteen years. Travel, birding, growing roses, reading, and photography are also part of my leisure time activities. I have traveled throughout the United States, including Alaska (crossing the Artic Circle) and Hawaii. International travel includes four trips to Belize, four to San Salvador (the island), Cat Island, Little Cayman, Salt Cay, South Andros, St. Thomas, St. Croix, Costa Rica, Tikal in Guatemala, Aruba, Barbados, San Juan Islands, Negril, Moorea, Tahiti, England, France, Italy, Switzerland, and San Ignacio lagoon in Baja California. It was there that I kissed a California gray whale. Joyce, my wife for almost 48 years, passed away on April 6, 2014 after a hard fought battle with ovarian cancer. We have two children. Carolyn is a graduate of GPS and Rhodes College. She is married and has two sons, Henry and John. They reside Jackson, Mississippi. Laura is a graduate of Baylor and Millsaps College.
