About Me	I find pleasure in living in the past if only in my writings. I'm as young as my mind tells me I am and as active as my good health and body permits. I love climbing up mountains (my technical climbing days are long past) and hiking in the woods. I tell some folks that I am the last surviving Civil War veteran but I really expect to be the last surviving WW 2 veteran about 30 years from now. I served in the US Navy during WW 2 and in the US Army during the Korean War period and am active in supporting veterans as a former member of the Massachusetts Department of Veterans Services, a member of the VFW, DAV, and American Legion, and a former driver of disabled vets to the VA hospitals and as a member of the USO of New England Board. I am a graduate of Brown University and also attended the RI School of Design. I lived in Needham, MA for 50 years before moving to NH in 2010 after my wife, Jane, died and left me after 60 years of marriage.I have made my living through my creative talents as a writer, salesman (selling ideas), advertising agency owner, credit union and bank president, and as a politician (elected Treasurer of Norfolk County) and then served as Special Assistant to the Commissioner of Veterans Services for Massachusetts. and as head of the Massachusetts Deferred Compensation Program under the Massachusetts State Treasurer.
