About Me	I am Head of the Department (HOD) and Assistant Professor of Sociology at Sherubtse College in the Royal University of Bhutan. A glutton for punishment, I am also an Assistant Professor of Sociology with University of Maryland University College Asia Division. Restless and inquisitive, I am a global nomad who might be teaching from anywhere on the planet at any given moment...as long as there is reliable internet and the promise of a paycheck. In recent years I have explored to varying degrees the countries of Albania, Argentina, Austria, Bhutan, Bosnia, Britain, Brazil, Chile, China, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Hungary, India, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Laos, Montenegro, Norway, Poland, Scotland, Slovakia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, the United States, Uruguay, Wales and Vietnam....and still feel a passion for discovery. I have a B.S. in Social Science from Boise State University; an M.S. in Sociology from Utah State University; and am Ph.D. A.B.D. E. (all-but-dissertation-eternally) in the Sociology Department at Colorado State University. While my academic work and entrepreneurial activities are sometimes consuming, I enjoy reading challenging literature, discovering new lands and peoples, long-distance bicycle touring, good wine, foods from Asia, the Northern Mediterranean, Scandinavia and Middle-East, fooling around on the six string, yoga and Pilates, and hanging out with my friends, mum, two wonderful daughters.......(read more)
