John passed away after battling Alzeimer's Disease. Following high school he attended the Colorado School of Mines. He worked as a mining engineer with mine construction area as his specialty. John was married for 54 years to Judy (Wolfe), and had 2 sons and one daughter, 5 grandchildren, and 2 great grandsons. His older sister, Judy, class of 1960, passed away in 1985. and his brother, Butch, class of 1961, passed away in 2020. Both siblings died from cancer. He is survived by Kathy Kyffin Schleifer, class of 1971.
