About Me	Gary has been married to Carol, a now-retired surgeon, since 1969. They have two daughters: Jordie, a Harvard grad who is Associate Rabbi at Yale University, and Jessie, a Smith College grad, who is an MSW in New Orleans. In 2009, Gary became Emeritus Rabbi of Oak Park Temple after a tenure of 30 years. He remains active teaching, serving as a Governing Member of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, and in civil liberties activities in Illinois. He has served as president of various local, state, and national interfaith, clergy, and civil liberties organizations. He was also the recipient of a Fulbright Scholarship. Now that he and Carol are retired, they spend winters in their New Orleans home, and the rest of the year at their home in the Chicago suburbs.
