About Me	Hello everyone. I was born on 5/8/1978 in Port Jefferson, NY and adopted out through Suffolk County Dept of Social Services. I have registered with NY State and was only given that my mother was unmarried with no other children, in 12th grade and age 17 when I was born. Nothing on my father. I just got my 23andMe DNA results last night (as my husband bought it for my 40th birthday). I was told my whole life by my adoptive parents that I was half Irish and Swedish and German. Turns out, I am mainly Italitan, with some French and German. I found two 2nd cousins and messaged them, but have not heard anything back yet. I also just registered with the Adoption Database. I'm waiting for my 23andMe DNA Migration on GedMatch to see what that tells me. I also have other pending FB groups for NY Adoptees join requests pending as well. Does anyone else have any other good places to search other than the above to recommend? I have a good life with a wonderful family and would love to connect with my birthfamily members.
