About Me Since high school, I went to college and graduated with a BS degree in Education. I married in '75 and we moved to San Diego in '78 where my daughter, Rebecca, was born. In '80 my son, William, was born while we were still in San Diego, I was training our 2 dogs in obedience and showing them. They both won titles. In Nov. of 81, we were transferred back to Groton, CT and in Jan. '82 we moved into our house in Salem where I was a full time mom and continued my work with dog training and we got our third dog and acquired 2 cats. Eventually I began to sub as my kids went to school and began working on my Master's Degree in Human Relations which I got in 1987 along with a full time teaching position. I began teaching First Grade and then moved up to sixth grade. I taught for 20 years and decided I need to do something else so I retired taking a deferred retirement. I joined the local Fire Co. (Gardner Lake Volunteer Fire Company, Inc.) where I've become very active. I was sent to Emergency Medical Technician School and took the National test and became a nationally certified EMT-B. I also teach CPR classes. I am a LT. for our EMS service as well as the Engineer. I put in my volunteer duty night on the ambulance call system and then I'm on the paid system for weekends and holidays and I LOVE it! I also do some substitute teaching on the side. So I keep very busy. I am now retired and enjoy FaceTime with my daughter, son-in-law, and grandson in Bismarck, ND and babysitting occasionally for my son's son baby nearby. I enjoy being a Grandmother very much. My hus...(read more)
