About Obituary
Jason David Trask of Whitman went home to his heavenly father on December 26, 2023. Beloved husband of Kathleen Trask and devoted Father to Bailey Trask. Loving son of Mark and Janet Trask, dear brother of Andrea Trask and Shannon (Trask) Sorensen. Loving Grandson of Joan Trask. Son-In-Law to Joan Hurley.
Trusted Brother-In-law to Sean Sorensen, James Lucas, Ed Hurley, Tina Hurley, Paul Hurley, Julie Hurley, Nancy O'Rourke, John O'Rourke. Amazing Uncle to Lane, Juke, Nor, Lily, Andrew, Jonathan, Michael, Erin, Margaret, Bridget, Eddie, Dillon, Devyn, and Sean. Nephew, Cousin, and friend to so many more.
Jason was far more than a baseball enthusiast, he was a coach to so many players, a man with every bad dad joke under the sun in his head, and the ability to bring joy and light to the world around him. He was at his happiest when he was making someone laugh. At any neighborhood or family party you could find him with all of the children trying to organize a game or general play to bring a great time. He had an uncanny ability to connect with children and show them joy while teaching them. He loved the game of baseball and was able to live his dream job while working at South Shore Baseball teaching children not only how to play the game well but how to love it. His specialty was the rookie league where he'd coach children 5-7 in learning the game and do everything he could to make the parents laugh as they watched the fun organized chaos on the field.
All over there are players and people that have been impacted by his presence. He'd want everyone to remember to take the time for the joy. Tell the bad joke, go see the Red Sox or Savannah Bananas and soak in every second. "What was the most groundbreaking invention of all time? “The shovel.”
