James Hugh Oslin, 78, of Mathias WV passed away on Monday, April 27, 2026 at Spring Arbor of Winchester, Winchester, VA.
Born on February 28, 1948 in Washington, D.C., he was the son of the late William Allen Oslin and Evelyn (Knott) Oslin. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Brown.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth M. (Darden) Oslin whom he married on Feb. 28, 1970. Also by his sister, Vivian Lynn Oslin of Dallas, TX and brother, William Christopher Oslin of Crofton, MD, and several nieces and nephews.
James was a member of the Collington Masonic Lodge, #230 Bowie, MD and a founding member of the St. Florian 9/11 Masonic Lodge #238 Howard, MD. He was a volunteer firefight for 62 years with the Glen Dale Vol. Fire Dept. in Maryland. He was a member of the Prince George’s County Dive Team. He enjoyed scuba diving and loved to go to the Bahamas for diving. After a career with the Dept. of Defense, he retired to West Virginia where he enjoyed building things and handyman work.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
